Along with new iPhones, one of the expectations every year is a new A-series processor. Apple continues to improve on the formula, and it appears this year’s iteration isn’t any different.

Benchmark scores for the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are cropping up on Geekbench, which is par for the course after a new iPhone’s unveiling. These new scores show off the speed of Apple’s newest A-series chip, the A14 Bionic. This processor is available in all iPhone 12 models, so even if you don’t plan on picking up a Pro model this year, you’ll get plenty of speed and capability from your new iPhone.

For reference, “iPhone 13,3” is the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro. Meanwhile, “iPhone 13,4” corresponds to the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.

There are a lot of scores to choose from when perusing the results. The first result for the iPhone 12 Pro at the top of the list shows scores that aren’t great: a single-core score of 1555 and a multi-core score of 2611. However, the fastest results come back with a single-core score of 1597 and a multi-core score of 4152. On average, it looks like the A14 Bionic is about 26 percent faster than Apple’s A13 processor.

Meanwhile, there are only two results for the iPhone 12 Pro Max at the time of publication. The fastest results came back with a single-core score 1590 and a multi-core score of 4062. If this shakes out similar to how the iPhone 12 Pro compares to the iPhone 11 Pro, then it looks like the iPhone 12 Pro Max will be over 20% faster than the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

This isn’t too surprising, because the new iPad Air, which is also equipped with the new A14 Bionic, came back with similar results.

As noted today by MacRumors, the high range of scores, many of which aren’t all that high, aren’t a dire sign of things to come. John Poole, founder of Geekbench, says that these low scores are typical of a brand new iPhone with a fresh “out of box setup”. He notes that it’s possible the device is still in the process of being restored when the test is run, along with other unknown factors.

Basically, we should expect to see blistering speeds yet again from Apple’s newest A-series processor.

The public doesn’t have long to wait to get the A14 Bionic handling their everyday tasks. The iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro go up for pre-order this Friday, October 16, at 5:00 AM PDT/8:00 AM EDT. Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max will go up for pre-order on Friday, November 6, at the same time.
